Overview

BrigadeIQ is designed and built in Sydney, Australia, by volunteers, for volunteers.

Every emergency service organisation is different. Qualification frameworks, rank structures, reporting lines, and member management needs all vary, sometimes significantly, between services and even between brigades. BrigadeIQ is built around that reality, not in spite of it.

At its core, BrigadeIQ uses a templating model that lets each organisation define its own structure, from qualification pathways to role hierarchies, without custom development. Where the defaults don't fit, authorised users can override configuration at the level that makes sense for them.

Qualification Management

Qualification Groups

Qualifications can be superseded which leaves your member base with a variety of qualifications all rolling up to the same overall qualification.

Qualification Groups allow organisations to define what qualifications should roll up into, so that regardless if a member has an older but still valid qualification, they can be reported on all the same.

Qualification Pathways

Members progress through qualifications over time. BrigadeIQ allows you to define what progression looks like, including what prerequisites are needed to get there for each level/qualification, and to determine the general timeframe that it should take before a members should be considered ready to attain the next qualification/level.

Pathways are set at the entity or parent level, and can be overridden at the organisation level to support variations in pathway options like timeframes and prerequisites.

Organisation Structure

Every organisation is different, both in what it defines as its structure, but also at what levels members can be a part of.

BrigadeIQ defines organisations into the top level entity (NSW RFS, Marine Rescue NSW), and inside of that, a nested organisational structure that allows for grouping and aggregation of reporting.

Example: Region > District > Brigade

Parent organisations are given an aggregated rollup of their child organisations data, enabling parent orgs to see qualification distribution, training needs, average member response to incidents by organisation, and training course nominations.

Non-aggregated data stays with each organisation, parent orgs only see detail when explicitly granted access, keeping brigade-level data under local control
